Local
Food Lives: Ossington’s home for local food. From field to Ossington, west end Toronto is the new home for Chef Teo Paul and his newly completed Union Restaurant. Teo’s return from Paris’s Somo restaurant and the Piedmont region of Italy where he has been cooking for the past few years is a fantastic opportunity to liven Toronto’s local food scene. Teo is sourcing lots of his ingredients from producers in our area as well as from his family’s own Union Farm in the Beaver Valley. Scotch Mountain will be there, as will a few of our friends, Stoneyfield Elk Farm and Barbetta Orchards. Chef Teo’s credo for Union Restaurant is great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Nestled in at 72 Ossington you are greeted by an elegantly appointed French style waste high horseshoe bar modeled after a place in Paris aptly named Le Petit Fer à Cheval, exposed brick and a mural created by Barbara Klunder. In a charm that relates to his style of catering dinner for friends at his family’s farm, the open kitchen creates an engaged and composed feel to Union Restaurant. Union is set to become a customary destination for many Torontonians and foodies alike that seek an unwinding. Teo likes the idea of creating a laidback and welcoming space, with the benefits of gourmet food. Relax and explore the gastronomic geography of our province by joining us in toasting Teo and Union Restaurant. Union Restaurant |
